Shibaura House, Tokyo City

We had an early start this morning to get to our first program at Shibaura House in Tokyo City.

We introduced meditation to a small group of people with a guided meditation, followed by a shloka recital sung by Nicki. Everyone asked for more music, so towards the end we all sang together a few songs in Hindi and everyone had fun clapping along with us!!!

For lunch we went to Sawako’s building where there was a kitchen and dining room rented for us. It was really sweet of the Japanese Meditate To Regenerate team to cook spaghetti and pizza for us. Straight after lunch we were taken to the 31st floor of the building where the views of Tokyo were stunning.

Soon after we went down to a rented music room which was perfect for our bhangra dance rehearsal which Ram taught us.

After the two hour practice we went to Shibaura House for the concert. The building had really big glass windows which helped attract more attention to the concert while we were singing and dancing. While there was the Kuchi Pudi dance three little children and their mother walked past the building and when they saw us the two younger girls came in first to sit right at the front and even stayed for a second dance performance.

We had a powerful end to the concert with a Pakistani Qawwali where a few stood up to dance and everyone else clapped along with us!!!

We finished the day by going to a restaurant where we tried Japanese hot pot.
